Instant Pots are one of the hottest kitchen appliances.
With millions sold on Amazon, It's become the new must-have device and has a cult-like following.
It's also blown up on social media as the Instant Pot's official Facebook page counts almost 2,000,000 followers.
But how much of the Instant Pot fandom is just hype? How many Americans own an Instant Pot? We surveyed 1,500 people and got some surprising results.
- 21% of adult Americans have an Instant Pot - 53 million people.
- 50% more women than men own Instant Pots - 24.6% (women) vs 16.3% (men).
- Instant Pots are most popular with those between the ages of 25-44. It's least popular with 18-24 year olds.
- Regionally Instant Pots are most popular in the West and least popular in the Northeast.
Instant Pot Ownership
Instant Pot hasn't released sales numbers so we were curious how many Americans owned an Instant Pot.
Our survey found that 21% of Americans (18 years and older) owned an Instant Pot. According to US Census estimates, that means more than 53,000 million Americans own an Instant Pot. While we knew the Instant Pot was popular, we were surprised just how many owned one.
Are Instant Pots equally popular amongst men as they are women?
Our survey found a sizable gap in popularity between the sexes. 24.6% of women said they owned an Instant Pot compared to 16.3% of men. That means that women are a little more than 50% more likely than men to have an Instant Pot.

How does Instant Pot popularity compare by age?
The survey found that Instant Pot popularity remained fairly consistent within most age groups. 25-34 year-olds were most likely to own an Instant Pot while 18-24 year-olds were least likely. Many 18-24 year olds are still in school which could partly explain the results.
Is the Instant Pot popular across the entire country?
Our survey found that Instant Post were most popular in the West and least popular in the Northeast. It's tough to know how what would cause the difference.
These survey results cement the Instant Pot's status as one of the most popular kitchen appliances in the country. With more than 50 million customers and a strong presence on social media, the do-it-all device shows no signs of slowing down.
The survey was run through Google Surveys in July 2019 to 1,500 respondents. It was sent those 18 years or older and in the United States. The margin of error was <3%. Download the full survey results here.
